| On
the Mexican Riviera, about 300 kilometers from Acapulco lies Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo,
a double dose of paradise for tourists. Both towns have a lot
in common: a 25 kilometer coastline with lovely coves and inlets,
a splendid year-round climate with average temperatures around
35°C, warm waters, and a wide variety of land and water activities
for the entire family.
Ixtapa´s hotels spread out along El Palmar Beach near the
Ixtapa Marina, a complex with kilometres of navigable canals,
yacht clubs, golf courses, private houses, villas and condominiums,
hotels and several restaurants. Playa Quieta, just north of the
Ixtapa coast, is a lively beach due to its proximity to Club Med
and also a great place for water sports. Even further north is
Playa Linda, the new home of several hotels, including the Meliá
Azul, which has a fabulous pool for children.
La
Ropa is Zihuatanejo´s main beach - its gentle waves make
it a safe place for water sports. Fishermen come to Zihuatanejo
in search of blue and black marlin, sailfish, tuna, roosterfish
and Pacific Jack. |
